Gears- A 3D Printed Kinetic Sculpture

This is a Kinetic sculpture having 62 3D printed gears. The cube is 8 1/2″ X 8 1/2″ with all sides and the top having a clear 1/8″ thick lexan plate. The supporting frame is made from black Makerbeam 10 X 10 MM extruded aluminum, with miniature joining connectors, screws, and nuts. Components of this sculpture include two stepper motors, pillow blocks, pulleys, rods, belts, ball bearings, nuts, bolts, washers, wiring, and an Arduino computer. The motors are controlled by the Arduino computer. A 12 volt power source is required to run the motors. The 62 gears were printed with PLA filament on an Ultimaker 2+, taking over 70 hours to print.
